Patients Active in Research: Thames Valley, based at Oxford University Hospitals and the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, is a working group funded by the National Institute for Health Research, which seeks to encourage partnerships between medical researchers and the general public.
We have built a pilot site for PAIR, which aims to bring together medical researchers and the public. Dual features to attract researchers to upload their listings, and a way for the public to register interest and apply for partnerships are the essence of the site.
The site will officially launch in early January with a poster and flyer campaign across GP surgeries and hospitals in the Thames Valley, and a feature slot on BBC Radio.
Feedback is expected in due course from patient and public groups over the coming months, so that we can see what other features to add.
