Rosalyn Ellis at Thameside Media is pleased to help launch a new website for Sir Edward Davey, who was re-elected as MP for Kingston and Surbiton in the June 2017 General Election, and is currently the Shadow Home Secretary for the Liberal Democrats.
Whilst almost all other websites managed by Thameside Media are built on WordPress, the site for Ed Davey is built on a software system called NationBuilder. The Liberal Democrats are among many political organisations who have recently adopted NationBuilder because of its capabilities with hooking into social media and managing mass supporter databases and email campaigns. Interestingly, NationBuilder was utilised by both sides in the EU Referendum campaigns and also to great effect by the Trump campaign.
NationBuilder has less flexibility and ease-of-use than WordPress for adding content, and the site layout for Ed Davey is further constrained by the parameters of a central template managed by the Liberal Democrats HQ. However, the power of the NationBuilder database in handling supporter data and disseminating information during campaigns is the system’s true raison d’être, and we are happy to help our hard-working local MP with a fresh website built on this system.
