Thameside’s first app

The allure of the iPhone/Pad was too much to resist for us, and so we’ve produced Thameside Media’s first App, Literary London, with Ros working with Will Harris of Touch Machine for the esoteric parts of the programming. The App is a spin-off from London: City of Words, written by Westrow Cooper and David Caddy.

The App uses geo-tagging, so that a user can say, “I’m here in Mayfair”, for example, “What sites of literary interest are nearby?” At which point, a series of marker pins fly onto the map to indicate sites such as the house where Laurence Sterne wrote the last volume of Tristram Shandy.
